It's been a long time since I've had the uncontrollable urge to let fly with an industrial strength chunder.

NICOLE Kidman and Keith Urban are preparing for parenthood by splashing out more than $11 million on two luxury homes in the US before the arrival of their first child in July.

The Oscar-winning actor and her country crooner husband have bought palatial homes in Los Angeles and Tennessee in the past month.

The A-list couple were seen this week in Nashville, where they are believed to be overseeing the redecorating of their new $3.75 million seven-bedroom home, as well as building a dream home on a 15ha property they bought last year outside the country music capital.

Kidman and Urban last month also quietly [quietly!!??] bought a $7.6 million five-bedroom home in the upmarket LA neighbourhood of Brentwood.

No, this is not the politics, or whatever, of envy. It's a simple plaintive cry for the restitution of a modicum of good taste. (And being the caring, sharing compassionate soul we are, we wouldn't want Keef and Nic to become the next victims of mortgage stress.)

Could Dotty Parker have been so prescient as to have had Nicole in mind when she said, "She runs the gamut of emotions from A to B."? (See photo.)
